Ms. Beatrice Gallardo Pannia was born on April 11, 1954, in Elysian Fields, Texas, and passed away on February 18, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
Beatrice (Ms. Bea) was baptized at an early age at Strickland Springs Baptist Church, Waskom, TX. She received her formal education at Elysian Fields Independent School District. Following her attendance at the University of Texas at Arlington, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. During this time, she met her then husband, Gustavo Gallardo, the father of her two sons.
She received an honorable discharge in April 1979. After serving her country, she attended Wiley College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. She continued her studies at St. Philips College and received her certification as a nursing home administrator. Beatrice began her career in the airline industry at Continental Airlines. She later retired from United Airlines with a total of 23 years of service.
Beatrice had a strong sense of fashion and enjoyed shopping whenever the opportunity presented itself. Additionally, she loved dancing, listening to music, gardening, and decorating. She was a hard worker and a passionate individual. Known for her tenacity of spirit; she was fearless, bold, confident, generous kind-hearted, and always created new friendships everywhere she went. But above all, her two sons were the center of her world.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Tucker and Willie Mae Stephens, brother Herbert Stephens, and brother-in-law, Jim Norman.
She is survived by her loving sons; Michael Joseph Gallardo of Phoenix, AZ, and Robert Anthony (Noemi) Gallardo of Houston, TX; her siblings Joe (Darlene) Stephens of Ft. Worth, TX; Willie (Jim) Norman of Rowlett, TX; Cassandra Gail (Nathaniel) Caro of Forney, TX; and Racheall (Sherman) Petite of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Margaret Stephens of San Francisco, CA, and her grandchildren Jacob Gabriel Vasquez, Michael Joseph Gallardo Jr., Jenice Rihanna Gallardo, Legend Joseph Gallardo, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
