Bernice
Jackson

Bernice Jackson
November 18, 1943 – November 28, 2025
Bernice Jackson was born on November 18, 1943, in Haynesville, Louisiana, to the late O.C. and
Ida Mae Jackson. She was the fourth oldest among their children and grew up in a loving, close-
knit family where faith, unity, and hard work were the foundation of daily life. Bernice accepted
Christ at an early age, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her journey.
As a young woman, Bernice was known for her gentle spirit, her warm presence, and her
unwavering commitment to those she loved. She carried herself with quiet strength—never
seeking the spotlight but always being the kind of person others could depend on. Over the years,
her kindness touched countless lives, whether through a thoughtful conversation, a comforting
hug, or one of her home-cooked meals.
Cooking was one of Bernice's greatest joys and an expression of her love. She cherished
experimenting with new recipes, watching cooking shows, reading cookbooks, and sharing her
creations with family and friends. Her kitchen was the heart of her home—a place where stories
were told, laughter echoed, and everyone felt welcomed. Whether she was preparing a holiday
feast or a simple meal on an ordinary day, Bernice infused every dish with care. Those who
tasted her cooking will forever remember the warmth it brought.
In her free time, Bernice also enjoyed watching game shows and sports. She rarely missed an
episode of her favorite shows and could often be heard cheering for her favorite teams. These
simple pleasures brought her joy and gave her something fun to share with those around her.
Bernice was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory
her loving children: Thomas Lee Franklin Jr., Wanda Lynn Kelley, and Lonnie Lee Kelley
Jr. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Lisa Maire Braziel, who held a very special
place in her heart. Bernice is further survived by one sister, Ruth Logan, and one brother,
Jimmy Jackson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and
friends who will always remember her gentle nature and the love she freely gave.
Bernice departed this life on November 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love,
compassion, faith, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Ida Mae
Jackson; her brothers J.C. Jackson, Billy Jackson, Robert Jackson, and Louise Jackson; and
her sisters Linda Williams and Annie Jackson.
Although Bernice is no longer with us in physical form, her memory will live on in the hearts of
all who knew and loved her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, the beauty of
family, and the strength of a woman who always gave more than she took. Her presence will be
deeply missed but fondly remembered.
