In Loving Memory of Devah Marie Woods

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Devah Marie Woods. Devah went home to be with the Lord on May 5th, 2025, in Brenham, Texas. She was born on January 9, 2015, to her mother Veronica Marie Woods, and father, D'Angelo Woods, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Devah was a vibrant, happy-go-lucky, 10 year old little girl with an infectious laugh. With her sweet, sweet, spirit, she stole the hearts of everyone she encountered. Devah attended Brenham Elementary, where she was acknowledged as "Student of the Week". She was a great friend to her classmates, who say she was like a sister to them. She also attended Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church where she was a part of the Praise Dance Team.

Devah was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Cheryl Ann Williams (August 2007). She is survived by her mother Veronica, father D'angelo, stepfather Jahkiem Allah,siblings: Derrick, Deshaun, Destiny, Dhalila, and Deasia, great grandmother Jeanette Finch, grandfather, Michael Lundy, her favorite uncle, Darnell Williams (unky), and a host of other uncles and aunts, cousins, family, and friends.

"We do not have to rely on memories to recapture the spirit of those we have loved and lost – they live within our souls in some perfect sanctuary which even death cannot destroy."

Due to limited space at the church, we kindly ask that all public viewing take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM and are reserved for immediate family, close friends, ministers, school officials, government servants, civic leaders, and church members. The service will be broadcast live on the church website and their YouTube channel starting at 1:45 PM for all who wish to join virtually.

Flowers may be delivered directly to the church on Saturday, May 17, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
