Duane
Parker
Apr 10, 1968 — Jan 3, 2025
Duane L. Parker born April 10, 1968
lovingly known as "Woodrow," passed away on January 3, 2025, surrounded by his cherished family. A proud Texan, Woodrow was a true country man with a passion for fishing, hunting, camping, and black topping. He was deeply devoted to his family and lived a life filled with love and laughter.
Woodrow was raised by three incredible mothers: Patricia Chesson, Dianne Kirkland, and Leslie Gayle Holt, and was lovingly guided by his uncle Wendell, who raised him as his own. His large and devoted family will miss him dearly, remembering his sense of humor, playful pranks, and kind heart.
We can imagine Woodrow joking that he's now "the new sheriff in town"
Woodrow is survived by his four children: Wendall Pacman Parker, Heather Crawford, Traci Cummins, and Kaci Cummins, and his nine adored grandchildren, and the love of his life April Gibbs. He is also survived by his siblings Shirley, Hank, Brenda, and Danny.
He is preceded in death by two of his mothers, Patricia Chesson and Dianne Kirkland; his beloved father figure Wendell Kirkland. his aunt Brenda Fortenberry; and uncles Sunny Brantley, Larry Brantley. Grand parents Ann R Brantley and Oscar Brantley. He is also preceded by his brother Todd Kirkland and his precious granddaughter Kinley Carter.
Woodrow's family finds comfort in knowing he's now surrounded by the best fishing spots in heaven, reunited with family and friends who have patiently waited for him to come home to heaven.
