Elizabeth
Foelker
Aug 17, 1953 — May 26, 2025
Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Foelker, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born
on August 17, 1953, in Crowley, Louisiana, Betty Jo grew up in Bay City, Texas, and spent her adult life raising her family in Sugar
Land.
Betty Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who poured her heart into everything she did. She volunteered
tirelessly at her children's elementary school, where she became affectionately known as the "Snow Cone Lady." She was a
dedicated member of St. Laurence Catholic Church and a passionate advocate for children with learning disabilities. As a founding
member of the Learning Disabilities Association of Fort Bend County, Betty Jo helped build a vital support network for families in the
community. Her motto - "leave no children behind" - guided her every step as she worked to ensure that all children, not just her
own, had access to the tools and opportunities they needed to thrive.
She was known for her fierce love, quick wit, and unwavering spirit. Betty Jo wasn't one to be pushed around and taught her
children to stand up for themselves and for others. She opened her heart and home to her children's friends in times of need, always
making space for those who needed comfort or care. She was her children's biggest fan, constantly encouraging them to follow their
dreams and reminding them that they were capable of anything.
Betty Jo also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and always had room in her heart and home for a furry friend. Her warmth
extended to every living being, and her pets were as cherished as any member of the family.
She loved deeply, laughed easily, and brought joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her pride in being a grandmother was
immense, and her playful, loving spirit will live on through her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Jane Bossley, and her beloved son, Robbe Kelly. She is survived by her devoted
husband of 40 years, John Foelker; her children, Collin Kelly, Beth and Gilbert Moreno, and Johnathan Foelker; and her adored
grandchildren, Nick Rasa, Chloe Moreno, and Jackson Moreno. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Susan Taylor, Lee and Mita
Bossley, Billy and Dawn Bossley, and Rebecca Nicklas.
Betty Jo's life was a testament to love, resilience, and generosity. Her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the
values she instilled in those who loved her most.
