Maria Herlinda Reyes, passed away on March 14th at age 79. She wore many hats in her life, from the first woman social worker in San Antonio at the YMCA to business owner of photography business in the 70-80's in Chicago and Houston. But what she truly loved was her family. Her smile could never be contained when she mentioned her 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and of course her 3 children. Whether crocheting shawls and scarves, enjoying bingo halls (a cherished pastime), or cooking Mexican cuisine in her kitchen, Herlinda brought love and laughter to her family.

Herlinda's memory will forever be treasured by her three children and their spouses: Marco Melchor and his wife Stephanie, Marylinda Cohron and her husband John, and Raul Melchor and his wife Nelly. She will be missed by her many grandchildren Andrea Calderon, Raul Melchor Jr., Emilio Arredondo, Alisha Palomo, Shelby Cohron, Alex Melchor, Alanna Melchor, Annalise Melchor, Nathan Melchor, Max Melchor, and Erika Melchor. The oldest of three, she is survived by her brothers, Jose Reyes and his wife Marciala, Jesse Reyes and wife Bobbie. She will be remembered fondly by her great-grandchildren Emmie, Liana, Harmony, Marceline, Killian, Ruien, and Eulalia.
