Jeffery Dale
Adams
Nov 29, 1948 — Nov 27, 2025
Jeffery(Jeff) Dale Adams was born on November 29, 1948 to Sidney and Eula Mae Booty Adams in Beckville, Texas. He was the 14th child of 15 for his parents. Jeff graduated from Beckville High School in 1968 and was drafted into the Marine Corps the same year, spending time in San Diego and Hawaii. He attended Panola College and obtained an Associate's Degree in Mechanics. He worked for Pennzoil and Devon Energy as the first black Oil Field supervisor for over 25 years. Jeff was a kind and generous man who was active in his community. He once served as a member of the Panola County Appraisal District, a member of the Beckville City Council, Beckville Housing Authority and Beckville School Board. He loved to travel, fish, hunt, listen to music, and garden, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Jeff enjoyed planning projects with his nephew, Karl McClendon, and playing dominoes with his brothers and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Robia McClendon, Billie Holt, Ruby Frazier, and Eula B Adams; brothers Enoch Adams, Leo Adams, V.T. Adams, C.L. Adams, David Adams, Sidney "Sluggy" Adams, and Roy Adams.
Jeff married Gloria Faye Gladney, the keeper of his heart, in 1973. They enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marital bliss. They enjoyed taking long rides around town, staying up late with a cup of coffee, and watching the news.
He leaves here with us his sister, Tommie Johnson, and brothers Robert Adams(Rosie), and Brinson Adams.
He was a wonderful father to his two children, Andrea Midgett(Norberto), and Michael Adams(Lauren). He loved being called PawPaw by his grandchildren: Marcella, Addison, Arlyse, Jacob, Elijah, Everett, and Miles.
He also leaves us with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Jeffery left a legacy of love, honesty, devotion, and kindness for all of us to follow. In his honor, please take this month to remember him by helping someone in need.
