Obituary

Kathy Walker King

Kathy Walker King was born in Jackson, Mississippi on June 23, 1971 to Edward and Lucy Walker. She was the seventh of eight children. Kathy was nurtured in a strong religious family where she accepted Christ at an early age.

Exhibiting above average grades and an effortless acquisition of knowledge Kathy graduated from high school a year early.

In 1994, Kathy met Roderick "Todd" King, romancing in great love, culminating in marriage on September 26, 1996. Together, they raised five strong children in a loving home and later became proud grandparents. Attending their children's school events and extracurricular activities brought them much joy.

Kathy worked for twenty-five years in the hotel industry as a Director of Sales. Kathy's years of experience and comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations earned her a promotion to General Manager of the Homewood Suites, Conroe, Texas.

Kathy (Kay King) was loved by all who met her. Her husband and children adored her. Her quiet and humble demeanor made her a joy to be around.

Roderick and Kathy both spent time fishing and gardening. At any time, they could be found with hooks and bait headed to the nearest fishing spot or tending to their garden.

They enjoyed many weekend getaways, sometimes with no particular destination in mind. Quality time spent together was important to them.

Kathy was loved and cherished by many including; her loving husband, Roderick; her five children, Ariel, Alex, Danielle, Kiana and Geneva; grandchildren, Levi, Isaiah, Sadie, Nevaeh, and Khalil; her siblings; Joe, Ed, Larry, Vernon, Yvonne, Beatrice, Secillian; her mother in-law, Eva Ellis and James; and father in-law Travis Dehorney and Georgia.  A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, are saddened by Kathy's transition from this earthly residence to her heavenly home.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Edward Walker and mother Lucy Walker.

Kathy will be dearly missed and forever loved and celebrated. Her impact on our lives will always be appreciated and acknowledged.
