Lashunda Renee
Walker
Dec 28, 1977 — Jul 31, 2022
Once a girl in days long past on the beautiful and cold day of December 28,1977 one of God's greatest treasures was born, she was to be named Craignetra Antoinette. Thank the Lord my Uncle Errol stepped in and named me LaShunda Renee.
I was born to a beautiful and wonderful mother and father named Carolyn Walker and Craig Kannady Sr. in Houston, Texas. LaShunda attended public schools in HISD and completed her education at "THEE" Kashmere Senior High School in 1996. I went on to complete my college career at "THEE" Texas Southern University in 2002.
Shun professed her faith in God at an early age and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. I later became a member of the Fountain of Praise under the leadership of Pastor Remus E. Wright. I was united in holy matrimony with Eric Hayes Sr. in 1998 and to this union two beautiful children were born.
Shun, as I was affectionately called by my family, was an employee of Aldine ISD from 2009 until her death. The most important thing to Shun was family and her proudest moments were the birth of her daughter Brianna and son Eric in 2004 whom she loved and cherished. It was always my prayer that thru education I would be able to touch the lives of my students. I was always available to help in any way that I could unless I just did not want to. I leave a great legacy and foundation within my son and daughter. Shun was content to be in the background and never requested accolades.
Shun was called to rest on July 31st, 2022. She was preceded in death by her grandmother's Viola Walker and Mary Helen Kannady, as well as her grandfather Eldridge Dickey Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories of her loving, caring, and devoted children Brianna and Eric Jr. She also leaves her bonus children Cierra(Recca), LaRhianna, and Larry III. Her father and forever best friend Craig Kannady, Her mother and step-father who were her support system Carolyn and Jesse Elliosr. She also leaves a beautiful God-Daughter Zyah Thompson. One sister LaKicia (Curtis), Three Brothers LeAnderay (Lykethia), Joseph(Ketra), and Craig Jr. She also leaves her loving God parents Ron and Arands Collins. Along with 5 God brothers and sisters LaDana, James, Ronnique, Sharonnie, and Quincy. Along with a host of loving and caring aunts and uncles.
I also leave 10 nieces and nephews whom I love dearly LaCurtrick, Jasmine, Quinton, Heaven, Dionte, Joe Joe, Jakeia, London, Reggie, and LeAnderay II. My best friends who meant the world to me Chanceata, Melita, and Cykethia. Lastly, I leave a host of cousins but everybody knows my heart belongs to my "Scooter Rooter!"
