Obituary

Linda Joyce Phillips was born on January 10, 1957 in Brenham, Texas to Ina Ruth Winston and Henry Phillips. Linda attended schools in Washington County and graduated from Brenham High School. She went on to attend and graduate from Blinn College with an associate's degree and a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston in accounting. While at Blinn College, Linda was a part of the drill team. Linda initially worked as an accountant for SafeWay utilizing her degree, but later switched careers to her true calling, nursing. She worked the rest of her life as a nurse until retirement.

On July 24, 1982 Linda married Glen Roy Taylor in Brenham, Texas. The two had known each other since childhood and eventually moved to Houston and started a family. In June 1994, they welcomed their first child, Destiney Shaneice Ruth Taylor and not long after welcomed twins, De'Andrea Lynne Taylor and De'Andre Glen Taylor in October 1996. Linda, Glen and their children are members of Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Linda and her children were very active in church activities to include praise dance, choir, and band. She always encouraged a strong relationship with the Lord and lived her life accordingly.

As a nurse, Linda worked for MacGregor Medical Clinic and MD Anderson Cancer Center where she touched the lives of every doctor she worked with and every patient in her care. Nursing was truly Linda's calling because it allowed her to exhibit her loving personality and joyful spirit. Caring for others brought her great joy and no matter the day she was having, she always smiled. Her smile brightened the day of every person who saw her. She always had a kind word and dance to accompany her beautiful smile. Linda is the true embodiment of the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Ina Ruth Winston, her father, Henry Phillips, and other cherished family members and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Glen Roy Taylor, her children: Destiney, De'Andrea, and De'Andre Taylor (Houston). Sisters, Muriel Williams (Houston) and Dorothy Fontenot (Chappel Hill). Uncle, Clint Winston (Brenham) and a host of family and friends.
