Remembering Marylou…
Our beloved Marylou Mitchell was born on January 11, 1950, in Houston, Texas to the parentage of the late Mr. Herbert Lee Mitchell & Mrs. Annie Bell Mitchell. She was the third child out of six children, which blessed this union. She exchanged time for eternity June 20, 2022.
Sister Marylou Mitchell was saved in her youth. She sought the Lord and received him as her personal Savior, confessed Him publicly, was baptized and united with the Macedonia Clinton View Church of Houston, Texas, under the spiritual leadership of the late Reverend Pastor Porter.
Marylou was a loving and kind person who was full of peace, love and good things. She was filled with a spirit of welcome as well to all who entered therein. Her countenance marked by a passion of selfless giving and helping others through talking and comforting others in need.
Marylou was a caregiver with the children in the Petty family. She was a dedicated family child caregiver for many years serving all the children in the Petty family with excellence as a child caregiver. She was well known by all of her family and the community. Marylou loved to wear beads, dance, and she especially loved all her nieces and nephews. In her past time, she enjoyed watching movies, playing cards, and an excellent with children, listening to Zydeco, and serving the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Herbert Lee Mitchell & Mrs. Annie Bell Mitchell, a brother, Herbert Lee Mitchell Jr., a sister Lula Bell Mitchell, a brother in-law Clement Ray Charles, and a nephew Calvin Mitchell.
Marylou leaves to cherish her memories: Her Uncle Shelton Green of Houston, Texas; Aunt Octavia Chretien of Houston, Texas; Aunt Laverne English of Houston, Texas. Her baby sister, Linda Charles of Houston, Texas, older brother Raymond Mitchell of Houston, Texas; seven nieces and nephew: Angela Petty, Timothy Petty, Vernon Petty (wife, Asia Petty), Verlinda Petty (husband, Marcus Hines), Tarsha Mitchell. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Marylou will be truly missed. The laughs and smiles, the helping hand when needed; She was a great aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. For God said, "Servant Well Done!" You have fought a good fight, You have kept the faith, now come home and rest with me as those you leave behind will weep for a night or two, but JOY will come in the morning.
