Oscar Weathers Jr. was born on November 11, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Oscar Weathers Sr. and Henrietta (McKinnon) Weathers. Oscar dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. Oscar worked various jobs throughout his life prior to retirement but passion was ministering to others through song. He was known for his famous rendition of "Walk around Heaven".  He was raised in Detroit, MI; lived in Chicago, IL, Millbrook, AL, Jonestown and Clarksdale, MS before settling in Houston, TX. On July 7, 2023 Oscar passed on to glory at the age of 70.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Henrietta Weathers. Siblings Harriet Weathers- Jackson, Sandra Williams(Tony), Jessie Lee Weathers, Wallace Weathers, Charlene Weathers-Stroud (Tim), Essie Weathers, Anthony Weathers, Cornell Weathers, Brenda Weathers-Bellamy and Tina Weathers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years Sarah Ann (Barton) Weathers. Siblings Bernice Weathers-Williams (Keith), Terry Weathers (Collette), Kenneth Weathers (Jeannie), Timothy Weathers (Kendra), Ahmed Weathers, Kemp Weathers, Christopher Weathers, Almirah Weathers and Alnisha Weathers.

Oscar was survived by his 2 sons Alex Barton and Oscar Ellerbee. 3 Daughters Celestine Robinson (Christopher), Chenet Peterson, Arshada Hayes (Terrance). 16 grandchildren Jasmine Gardner (Stephen), Jocelyn Lockhart (Travis), Jacqueline Ewings, Andre Nawls, Johnnie Ewings, Tramaine Williams, Charles Barton, Alex Barton, Malaya Barton, Chetravia Ewings, Tracie Ewings, Travis Ewings, Simora Rainey, Jarvious Owens Jr., Aria Hayes, Xavier Wallace, Terrance Hayes II. 5 great grandchildren Katelyn Reynolds, Kadience Ware, Ta'ryaLockhart, Travis C. Lockhart, Dawson Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
