Victor Raynaldo
Reyna
Jan 13, 1948 — May 20, 2025
Victor "Rey" Raynaldo Reyna was surrounded by his family when he passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2025, at the age of seventy-seven.
Rey was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and attended Aldine High School. He joined the Army in 1967 at the age of nineteen and served in Vietnam for two years. His time in Vietnam was filled with challenges and adventure, and he often told stories about the strong bonds he formed and the unforgettable experiences he shared with his fellow soldiers.
After his military service, he spent over fifty years in the auto parts industry. Rey started his own auto parts company called Rey's Auto Parts and later was recruited by AutoZone, where he worked his way up to become a regional manager. Eventually, Rey purchased a Kwik Kar franchise, serving as the CEO and overseeing its operations. Even in retirement, he continued to help anyone he came across with his automotive knowledge. Known for his dedication, fairness, and compassion, Rey left a lasting impact on those he served with and worked alongside.
Rey was passionate about baseball and enjoyed 25 years of playing and traveling with various teams. He loved the camaraderie of his teammates during the games—and especially the team "meetings" that followed. He was also known as a great country western dancer and enjoyed teaching his children to dance like their father. Thanks to Rey, dancing, music, and fun were always a part of the Reyna household. He was also an avid collector of coins, antiques, and sports memorabilia.
Rey is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Wanda; his cherished children Gina, Daniel, Victor, David, and Morgen; and his grandchildren Isabella, Giovanna, Elin, and Dane. He is also survived by his sister Alice and her husband Gerardo, and his brother Rick and his wife Cindy. He was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Mary; his sisters Virginia, Oralia, and Anna; and his brothers Jesse, Victor, and Arthur. The significant others of his children, along with his many nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts, were also an important part of Rey's everyday life.
His faith, integrity, kindness, and generosity will leave an everlasting impact on all of us.
A funeral service to honor Rey's life will be held at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A burial with military honors will follow on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 12:30 PM at the Houston National Cemetery.
