Mary Ellen
Kohlman
Oct 6, 1961 — Jun 9, 2020
Katy
Mary Ellen Kohlman, 58, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020. She was born on October 6th, 1961, in Connersville, Indiana, and is the daughter of Quenton and Deanna Hensley.
Mary was a retired business owner, and later in her life, a caretaker. Her existence was a testimony to love even in her hobbies: fostering animals, dancing to any song that struck her, DIY projects, camping, and adventures to white sand beaches with her family. She enjoyed singing, making crafts, and could throw together an eight course meal with an empty refrigerator. She spent most of her time on this plane laughing. Mary was always on the go. On the rare occasion when she got a chance to sit, she had a cat in her lap. Mary dedicated her life to caring for others and spent every possible moment with her granddaughter Belle and her soulmate and schmoopie, Paul.
Mary is survived by her husband Paul Kohlman; her parents, Quenton and Deanna Hensley; her aunt and cousins Judith and Christopher Reynolds; her sister and brother-in-laws, Cheryl and John Baudins; her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Chuck Sherry, Keith and Jan Kohlman; her sister-in-law, Dee Anne Dunne; her daughter, son in law, grandson, and granddaughter, Kristin, Mark, Camden, and Belle Searcy; her daughter and son-in-law, DeeAnna Jackson and Joe Jackson; her daughter Karly Kohlman; 21 nieces and nephews, 17 great nephews and great nieces. She was a valued member of her community and touched many lives with her strong but gentle spirit.
Mary is preceded in death by her brother, Kimel Hensley; her brother-in-law Zach Kohlman; her nephew, Stevie Dunne. Due to the current health concerns of COVID 19, the family will be hosting a private celebration of life held on Friday, June 26th, 2020. Condolences can be left electronically or sent to 1813 Avenue A, San Leon, TX 77539.
